The Garden

A Working Field to Experience Satoyama Life Our working field offers a chance to witness the cyclical nature of the satoyama way of life.
The large concrete ponds in our garden were originally built for fish farming, an industry that operated alongside forestry in this region. We've given these historical structures a new purpose as kitchen gardens and natural habitats.
Using practices that these villages have maintained for centuries, we’ve connected the garden throughout with water channels that work with the land’s natural slope. The water is borrowed from the river, flowing through each pond, and then returning enriched back to its source.
The cycle continues, preserving the precious tradition of living in harmony with nature.
