There are around 10 large fish ponds, both large and small, on the Satologue grounds. The three largest of these have been renovated and repurposed as a private farm and biotope. Gravel and charcoal are laid at the bottom of the ponds, creating paths for water to flow to drainage holes and improve drainage. On top of that, branches and leaves cut down on the site are spread, and then soil is added, in an effort to maintain a stable soil condition. The history of this land is that it has existed beautifully here for decades, absorbed by the soil and covered with moss. The goal is to make use of these structures and continue to seek ways to coexist with nature. This is the experiment that Satologue is conducting in this garden. The photo shows the ponds in the middle of construction.
