Since moving to Okutama, I’ve been trying my hand at farming for the first time, learning from local residents. This includes digging ridges, planting seedlings, and cultivating shiitake mushrooms from logs. I hope to offer fresh, locally grown vegetables from our own garden on the property. I was touched when Wasabi Brothers, a wasabi farming operation in Okutama, told me that we were “partners working together to liven up Okutama.” I hope to continue pursuing the deliciousness and joy of food and share the wonders of Okutama with everyone through food.
